Saturday, November 16, 1 to 3 p.m. Create a tangy giardiniera with Tanya Chakravarty in this 20-minute pop-up event in the shop. Tanya will demonstrate and help you create a custom mix of tasty pickled vegetables. You’ll learn to make brine and then pack an 8-ounce jar to take home filled with your choice of veggies. Think broccoli, onion, garlic, cucumbers, tomatoes, green beans, peppers, and a possible surprise or two. In no time you’ll have piquant veggies to use as an appetizer, relish, or toss into salads. This is a casual event so you can register online or just pop in that day. We’ll get you the first available seat when you arrive. Easy peasy. You’ll leave with a jar of brining veggies and a recipe. Cost: $15 per jar. Make as many as you’d like and turn them into holiday hostess gifts! The class takes no more than 20 minutes, and it’s a nice activity for all ages.
