Saturday, February 3, 10:30 a.m. Stitch your way into the world of contemporary embroidery art with mixed-media artist Linda Arandas. We are excited to welcome her to Southwest Gardener. Linda has a notable talent for botanical stitch pictures. For this workshop she has designed a cactus sampler that we hope will become the first of many artful stitching projects for you. Linda will demonstrate five basic stitches and a few tricks that will start your embroidery journey. Using Linda’s techniques you will be ready to stitch lots more for yourself or as gifts. No experience is necessary. Once you master the process there’s a calm, meditative quality to embroidery. (It’s a bit like a modern-day quilting circle.) All of your materials – hoop, needle, fabric and plenty of floss – are included. This is a two-hour workshop.
Cancellation policy: No refunds or store credits will be issued if you can’t attend a class. Instructors work far in advance to prepare materials for class and they are paid whether or not you come. No exceptions.
