Have Lunch In Your Workshop!

Lunch is available from our neighbor, First Draft Book Bar, and will be delivered to your workshop, if you wish. Drinks are chosen when you check in for class.

Sunday, September 8, 10:30 a.m. Mandala is a symbol in Hinduism and Buddhism that represents the universe. The circular designs symbolize the idea that life is never ending and everything is connected. Look at an agave plant from above and you’ll see a serene, circular pattern that makes a lovely mandala design. In this workshop with mosaic artist Dave Jarvinen you will craft your own agave-inspired mandala using a variety of porcelain and glass tiles. Dave will demonstrate nipping, fitting and gluing. You will design and assemble your piece between 10:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. At 3 p.m. the grouting process will start. If you prefer to grout at home (or need additional drying time) Dave will provide pre-measured grout for you to take with you. This is a great class for someone with prior mosaic experience. Please bring a gardening-type glove if that helps your hands when nipping tile. This is a five-hour class.

Cancellation policy:  No refunds or store credits will be issued if you can’t attend a class. Instructors work far in advance to prepare materials for class and they are paid whether or not you come. No exceptions.
