Tomatopalooza Plant Sale

Sunday, February 14, Noon to 3 p.m.  This is the plant sale you don’t want to miss. Gregory Ware grows some of the best, most interesting varieties of tomato and this is the only place you’ll find them. Mid-February is tomato planting season, so now is when you should get your transplants into the garden. Gregory’s transplants are all organically grown, acclimated to our desert climate and ready to take root. Come early for the best selection. He often sells out.

Spring Veggies & Herb Plant Sale

Sunday, March 13, Noon to 3 pm.   At this plant sale you’ll find a small selection of herbs, small vegetable starts, more tomatoes (if you missed the plant sale a few weeks ago), potted Easter lilies, potted narcissus and amaryllis along with other goodies our grower pal Gregory Ware decides to put on his truck. Not a week goes by that a customer doesn’t tell us what good luck they’ve had with Gregory Ware’s locally grown, organic plants.  March is prime time for spring planting. Stop by and check on this selection of plants to carry your garden into the summer months. Pick up fresh soil, fertilizers, shade cloth and other gardening aids while you’re here. It’s a one-stop day.

Hot Weather Veggies & Herb Plant Sale

Sunday, May 29, Noon to 3 p.m. It may be hot, but this is a great season for some very cool plants that will thrive in your garden. For starters, Gregory says he’ll have more sweet potatoes than you’ve ever seen in one place. But were’ also excited about the array of herbs that will be here: horseradish, comfrey, feverfew, gotu kola, assorted basils, lemongrass, citronella lemongrass (rare and not easy to locate), capers, assorted exotic mints, zatar, various oreganos including Syrian and Greek kaliteri, and Mexican tarragon. What a great sale for gardening cooks or cooking gardeners!

Hotter than Hades Plant Sale

Sunday, June 19, Noon to 3 p.m. This is the plant sale for all the hard-core gardeners who don’t let the heat stifle their gardening efforts. Gregory Ware will be here with a selection of organic, heat-loving transplants including more sweet potatoes, summer tolerant herbs, hot peppers,  ornamental peppers, lots of lemongrass and mosquito repelling citronella grass, which thrives in our hot climate. You’ll also find goji berries, caper plants, and Malabar spinach. Even better, check out the herbs that are succulents – kind of unusual.  Great news, plant lovers, this event will be held indoors, so don’t let a few days of searing temperatures scare you. We’ll be cool and comfy all day.

Sunday, August 21, Noon to 3 p.m. A July 4 fire has affected Gregory Ware’s ability to grow enough plants for this sale. He’s OK, but it’s taking some time to sort out the damage. We’ll keep you posted.

Mid-Fall  Plant Sale

Sunday, October 9, Noon to 3 p.m. – Fall planting season has started. Gregory Ware will be here with a selection of young appropriate bulbs (think saffron crocus and paperwhites), herb plants, and very small vegetable seedlings. The veggie seedlings will include: arugula, Toscano kale, red kale, green kale,  kohlrabi, broccoli raab, DeCicco broccoli, Belstar broccoli, Gypsy broccoli, Diplomat broccoli and assorted lettuce varieties.
